About Pixelated Futures

Ian Field - Creator of Pixelated Futures

๐Ÿ‘‹ Hey everyone, I'm Ian, an AI skeptic, future optimist, closet empath, and creator of this site who has made his living programming and creating things on the internet. From Disney, to education tech, to weird kitchen top smart IoT composters to the gaming industry. I am now just trying to understand what future myself and my kids will have to survive in and I want to welcome you all to the Pixelated Futures publication.

The digital world that you and I spend most of our days in and canโ€™t seem to get away from (no matter how much our counselor tells us to), is changing and more importantly, is changing us. AI and social algorithms are wreaking havoc across the internet and transforming the digital space that our society now lives in.

In this new era for humanity, I am concerned that we are going to lose something that makes us human. Our inner voice, our intuition, and our self-trust. We are innodated every single day with opinions, thoughts, entertainment, and doom scrolling. We never take a spare moment to sit with our thoughts or digest any of the content we are consuming. The next few years are going to be challenging for all of us as we wrestle with the AI beast that has been unleashed. The only way I see us getting through it is to educate ourselves about it and more importantly work on ourselves to reconnect with what makes us human.

This site aims to blend AI and technology news with giving you practical tools to hold onto your humanity and sanity as we transition into this next phase. This site will focus on The Four I's: investigation, intention, intuition, and introspection which will be critical as we push into the unknown.

The digital world has had its challenges for a long time but the days of even trusting a small fraction of what we consume online is completely gone. We now have AI articles, AI art, AI writing, AI companions, AI scammers, AI viewers, AI commenters, and soon Meta is even going to let me train an AI to interact with my friends on my behalf so I never have to, and no thatโ€™s not a joke.
